What about a Vision Board for the year

Happy New Year !!!! It feels great to be on a new starting line and having the opportunity to begin again. I don't know if I am alone, but I always feel so excited in this season of the year just knowing I have the opportunity to make it right and make some changes to what didn't work in the previous year. I'd like to share something which has worked for me in recent years; A vision board! This little but great tool has helped me a great deal.

If you got this far, I know you for sure are interested in knowing more. So what's a vision board? Very simply, it's a board filled with directional and desired images usually placed in a location which would catch your attention whenever you find yourself there.

At the beginning of the year we are all filled with goals and targets we want to achieve by the time the year closes, this pushes us to set resolutions; which is great! But for me, over time I realized by the 3rd month I've forgotten most or all of my resolutions, no doubt it's usually called 'New Year resolutions' !!!

I had to think of an alternative or a plus to the resolutions to make them 'all year resolutions' I happened to watch a TV show in 2017 which talked about vision board creation & its benefit; this caught my attention and I was ready to do it!

I decided to give it a try in 2018 and since then I've not stopped! I usually do this alone but I actually know groups and programs which gather friends, group members to collectively create their yearly vision boards; whichever you chose is fine!

So what do you need? Number one is your mind and your imagination, think of the things you desire & need to achieve or do . Next look for pictures, images, words & other art that represent those desires. Make it as elaborate as you want; Career, Travel, Sports, Lifestyle, Faith, Academics etc. Get a board that can contain your thoughts & pin(glue) your images. Usually I use a cork board but whatever you have is fine! Glue the images stylishly according to your taste. Once done, place your board in a location you visit often & sure you will gaze on it regularly! that's it!

The more you see it the more you are reminded of it and the more you keep working at it the closer you are to getting it done!

At the end of the year it's easier to know and see what has been achieved and what still needs to be realized. Remember, you can do this at any time of the year and is not limited to January alone.

There are so many benefits of a vision board personally, my vision boards have helped me celebrate the little achievements in the course of the year, I also have quotes added on there which I read to myself regularly for personal encouragement! It helps me to consistently renew my commitment to my goals. There is power in visualization, I believe it has the power to attract what we see in reality! These are just a few!

In this day and age I know there are equally digital versions of vision boards which you can incorporate to your digital devices, so If that works better for you, you can exploit that too.

Happy vision boarding!! Let me know how it went in the comment section!
